Siskiyou Boulevard Pedestrian Safety Project

Parisi led the effort to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety along and across Ashland, Oregon’s primary arterial roadway. Siskiyou Boulevard is a five-lane street that serves as the city’s gateway and is used daily by thousands of pedestrians and bicyclists accessing a university, schools and local businesses. Parisi assessed pedestrian, bicycle and vehicle safety conditions, and recommended various countermeasures that have since been implemented, including enhanced pedestrian crossing treatments, bicycle facilities, and arterial traffic calming. Pedestrian and bicycle usage, as well as the corridor’s overall safety, has since increased.
