Since 2000, Parisi has been a leader in the national Safe Routes to School (SRTS) movement. Parisi has developed SRTS programs for a number of cities and counties throughout the U.S., and has managed the award-winning Marin County Safe Routes to School Program since 2005.
In order to achieve a well-rounded and effective program, Parisi strives to incorporate the “Five Es” in all SRTS projects—education, encouragement, enforcement, engineering, and evaluation. Services include outreach, walking and bicycling audits, SRTS-related infrastructure design, suggested route to school mapping, trip-matching program development, and school area traffic control plans.
Parisi staff consists of Certified National Trainers for SRTS and Certified Walkability Experts. In addition, Parisi has prepared Safe Routes to School related publications for the Institute of Transportation Engineers, the National Center for Safe Routes to School, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
